Service for Tom Leonard Is Held

Driller of Wells Succumbs To Brief Illness

Tom Leonard, who has lived in Blair since his marriage to Miss Gladys Raver on April 20, 1924, passed away at an Omaha hospital after an illness of two weeks’ duration.

Deceased was born in Herman October 5, 1883, and grew to manhood there and received his education there. After his marriage he and his wife settled in Blair and to them four children were born: Catherine, 17 years of age, Tommy 14, William 8, and Mary 5.

For a number of years he was in the employ of H.H. Brown in his well drilling work and later with J.E. Jensen until his death.

Besides the bereaved widow and children he leaves a number of sisters and brothers: Mrs. Tony Sidebottom of Herman, Mrs. Ed Ecklund and Miss Emma Leonard of Omaha and Mrs. Melissa Dickson of Glendale, California; Bert of Kennard and Jesse of Wheaton, Illinois.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Campbell Mortuary with Rev. Derelle Barber of the local Congregational Church officiating and interment in charge of the Herman Masonic lodge was made in the Blair cemetery.
