Michelsen Rites Held

Ollie Michelsen, 62, Dies At Walthill; Burial Takes Place Here

Ollie Michelsen, 62, onetime Blair farmer and native of Washington County, died September 11 at his farm home north of Walhill following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at Walthill September 12, interment following in Blair Cemetery after brief rites at First Baptist Church here.

Mr. Michelsen was born March 6, 1880, near Blair and on February 17, 1906 was married here to Catherine Carstens. They farmed near Blair for 20 years, later moving to a farm near Oakland, where they remained 15 years. In 1940 they moved to Walthill.

Mr. Michelsen is survived by his wife, Catherine; four sons, Elmer and Arthur, at home, and Glen, a soldier at Camp Barkeley, Texas, and Leonard, a soldier at Camp Shelby, Mississippi; three daughters, Mrs. Roland Hultman of Omaha, Mrs. Howard Martinson of Oakland and Mrs. Russell Warnemunde of St. James, Minnesota. Two other children died in infancy.

Also surviving Mr. Michelsen are two sisters, Mrs. B.M. Kindred of Omaha and Mrs. Henry Mathews of Winnebago, and two brothers, Harry of Omaha and George of Blair.
