Dies By Own Hand

This community was saddened to hear that Mrs. Herman Iverson had taken her own life at her home west of town yesterday shortly before noon. She had been ill three or four days and it is supposed that this condition influenced her to commit this act. She secured a revolver which was kept in another room and shot herself through the heart, but remained conscious until after the arrival of Dr. Geesaman.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.

Mrs. Herman Iverson

Rosie Schroeder was born Nov. 22, 1888, at Papillion, Nebr., and came with her parents to Ft. Calhoun in 1905. She was united in marriage to Herman Iverson on Feb. 28, 1918, and they immediately began housekeeping on the Iverson farm, where she passed away on Jan. 4, 1928.

She is survived by her husband and 7-year old daughter, Goldie Mari, also by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Schroeder, two brothers, John and Fred Schroeder, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Newhouse, of Leigh, Nebr.

The sudden passing of Mrs. Iverson came as a great shock to her family and the entire community, and the heartfelt sympathy of all goes out to the grief-stricken relatives in their hour of sorrow.

A large concourse of friends attended the funeral services, which were held in the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon, Rev. Barton officiating. Interment was in the Ft. Calhoun cemetery.

We wish to thank the friends for their assistance and sympathy given us in our bereavement; also to the singers, to Rev. Barton and to Mr. Gentleman, the undertaker, and to the pallbearers and little Goldie Marie’s schoolmates.

We also wish to express appreciation of the beautiful flora offerings.

Herman Iverson and Goldie Marie, Mr. and Mrs. August Schoeder and Family
