Erwin F. Sprick, 76

Erwin F. Sprick Jr., 76, of Raytown, Mo., died Thursday, June 2, 2011.

Funeral services will be noon Tuesday, June 7, at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Erwin F. Sprick Jr. was born Dec. 5, 1934, in Tekamah to Erwin F. and Ellen W. (Mengedoht) Sprick.

He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Independence, Mo., and served as Scoutmaster of Troop 267 of Blue Ridge Christian Church. He was employed by Cargill Inc. as an elevator superintendent for 42 years. He served in the United States Army.

On June 16, 1956, he married Claire Ann Heise. She survives him, as do his sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas G. and Peggy Sprick of Escondido, Calif., and James A. and Joan Sprick of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; grandchildren, Sarah, Ryan, Jacob and Jordan; brothers and sister-in-law, Duane Sprick of Fort Calhoun, and Roger and Irene Sprick of Omaha; sister, Donna Hansen of Washington, D.C., and brother-in-law and spouse, Marvin and Norma Heise of Bennington.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Sprick.

Memorials are suggested to the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church, the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (AAMDS), the Kansas City Hospice House, or the charity of the donor's choice.
