Mardelle Josephine Wulf, 100 of Blair, passed away July 18 at Crowell Home in Blair. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 21 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum. Burial will follow at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday at Campbell Aman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mardelle was born March 4, 1917, to Jay Polin Stokes and Maude May Arnold Stokes on the family farm near Herman. She graduated from Herman High School in 1933. She attended Wayne State and Dana College. She taught at several rural schools in Washington County for 20 years.

In 1940, she was united in marriage to Harlan George Wulf of Orum. Immanuel Lutheran of Orum became their church, where Mardelle served as organist for nearly 30 years. During that time, she also served as a Sunday school teacher and Bible school teacher.

Some of Mardelle's favorite things were playing the piano and organ, baking, sewing, and making quilts for her daughters and each grandchild. Later in life, she enjoyed making apple pies and homemade bread as gifts to her family.

Mardelle is survived by three daughters: Sharlene Kuhr, Marilyn (Henry) Neef, and Betty (Ron) Livermore, all of Blair; grandchildren: Kristi (Steve) Rounds, Shelly (Phil) Mruz, Troy (Beth) Wakefield, Mike (Susan) Wakefield, Jacque (Tom Muff) Welchert, Dane (Shannon) Livermore, Derek (Chestnut) Livermore; 18 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Doris Stokes; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan; son-in-law, Don Kuhr; three sisters; and five brothers.

Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum.
