David J. Augustine, age 72, of Edgemont, S.D., formerly of Fort Calhoun, died Tuesday, July 18 at the Hot Springs, S.D., hospital. His funeral is Saturday, July 22 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, Neb., his hometown.

Augustine had a truck and hauled sand and gravel in the Fort Calhoun area in the early 1970s. He then worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and lived Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Laramie, Wyo., before retiring in 2000. He and his wife, Bobbie, moved to Edgemont in 2004.

A memorial has been established for Friends Against Cancer. Donations may be sent to P.O. Box 71, Edgemont SD 57735.
