CLARK J. HUBER DIED TUESDAY

Clark J. Huber, lifetime Washington County farmer and purebred hog man, died early Tuesday, May 4th while being taken to the Methodist hospital in Omaha by ambulance. He had been in failing health for a number of years and had been seriously ill for months. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.

Mr. Huber was born August 27th, 1904, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George F. Huber.

Throughout his entire life he had lived on the family farm 12 miles south of Blair on Highway 133. The farm has been in the Huber family for more than 100 years, the family having been recognized for its long ownership by AkSarBen.

Since a lad in 4-H work, Clark has had an avid interest in purebred livestock and centered upon purebred Poland Chinas. He raised his stock carefully and became known throughout the midwest for his ability as a breeder of fancy hogs and he has sold stock at exceptional prices a number of times. His purebred sales have been attended by hog men throughout the entire midwest.

For a number of years he was an officer of the Poland China Record Association. He served as National President for the organization and was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award which is given to those who make outstanding contributions to the Association and the breed.

He is survived by two brothers and five sisters. The brothers are Walter G. Huber of Blair and Frank G. Huber of Omaha. The sisters are Mrs. Pauline C. Peterson of Omaha; Mrs. Mary M. Gottsch, Elkhorn; Bertha L. Huber, Rt. 2, Omaha; Mrs. Edna G. Petersen, Lincoln and Mrs. Bernice N. Lund, Rt. 6, Omaha.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 P.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington. Burial, under the direction of the Hadan Mortuary in Bennington, will be in the German Cemetery south of Blair.

The pallbearers will be Arthur L. Gottsch, Frank L. Huber, Robert C. Johnansen, A. Gene Petersen, Irvin E. Petersen , and Gilbert M. Stork.

Honorary pallbearers will be William H. Smith, Oscar Anderson, Arthur Briggs, Jr., Fred Morgan, Joe Otley, James Otley, James Armstrong, Paul Theilen, Harold Bauer, Gregory Steffen, Jack Cady, Carl McIntyre, Herbert Jens and Walter Busse.
