Mrs. John Hooks died very suddenly yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robt. Wilson, in this city. She was stricken with apoplexy at 3 o'clock and death came peacefully at 6 o'clock. She had been as well as ususal considering her age, past 77 years. The funeral will be held at the Methodist church at 2 o'clock tomorrow, Thursday afternoon, Rev. W.H.Underwood officiating. Margaret Armstrong was born in Galliton county, Ill., January 3rd, 1840, and was married there to John Hooks Sept 4th, 1856. They made their home near Edgewood for eighteen years, when Mr. Hooks died. Shortly thereafter, Mrs. Hooks came to this county, 42 years ago, and settled on the farm now owned by her son, Robt. Hooks. For the past fifteen years she had made her home with Mrs. Wilson mostly. Eight children were born to them, five of whom are now living, George, of this city, Frank, of Oakville, Calif., Robert, who lives on the old farm northwest of town, Mrs. Robert Wilson, of this city and Mrs. Frank Warrick, who lives out north of town. She leaves four sisters, Mrs. Wm. Wilson, Mrs. J.E. McCracken and Mrs. Basil George, of this city and Mrs. Lase Davis, of Hebron, Neb. Also one brother. William Armstrong, who lives on the Russell farm adjoining Blair on the southeast. There are ten grandchildren.

Mrs. Margaret Hooks passed away on last Tuesday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Wilson, who lives in Blair.

Margaret Armstrong was born over seventy-seven years ago and came to Washington County, Nebr., from Edgewood, Ill., about 1875, settling out on the farm now occupied by the son, Robert Hooks.

The deceased leaves to mourn her loss, two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Robert Wilson, Mrs. Frank Warrick, Robert, George and Frank Hooks of California, all of whom with the exception of Frank who was away from his home when summoned and could not be found, will be present at the funeral which will be held from the Methodist Church at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. Underwood officiating.
