Raymond F. Thompson, 84

Retired from Blair Schools in 1989

Raymond F. Thompson, 84, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at his home in Blair.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Raymond F. Thompson was born Oct. 25, 1926, in Blair, to Frank and Hazel (Brunton) Thompson. He attended school in Blair and graduated from Blair High School.

He married Lola Hineline; she preceded him in death.

Mr. Thompson served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He worked for the Blair Schools system, retiring in 1989.

He is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda Thompson and Dawn Steffen, both of Blair, Lisa and Jim Gould of Wichita, Kan.; son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Amanda Thompson of Blair; 10 grandchildren; sister Joann Trobough of Omaha.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sons, Ray and Keith; daughter, Carol; and sisters, Betty Thompson and Virginia Chiesa.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
