David Lynn Burger, 62

David Lynn Burger, age 62 of Blair passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and family at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Country Bible Church in Blair. Graveside service will be held Saturday, July 29 at 4 p.m. at the Pawnee City Cemetery in Pawnee City, Neb. Visitation will be held July 28 at Campbell Aman Funeral Home from 6-8 pm.

Dave was born on December 9, 1954, in Tecumseh to Merle and Melva Burger. He grew up and graduated from Table Rock High School in Table Rock in 1973. On August 24, 1973, he was united in marriage with Denise Droge. To this union, a son, Michael Lynn, and daughter, Angela Dawn, were born. He started working at General Steel in Lincoln making concrete pipes. About 1 1/2 years later, they got homesick and moved back to Table Rock, where they bought a house and fixed it up. It was then that Dave discovered his love of carpentry. He soon got a job as a framer, which led him to building homes in Lincoln; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Atlanta, Ga.; Nashville, Tenn.; and back to Omaha. He worked for Hearthstone Homes in Omaha, working his way up to Director of Production. Sadly, on November 4th, 2005, his wife, Denise, passed away unexpectedly in Dunbar, Neb.

On February 17, 2007, Dave was united in marriage with Debbie Tierney and they resided in Blair. In 2009, Dave & Debbie started Diamond Homes LLC and built many homes in Washington County. In his younger years, Dave enjoyed playing drums in a band and stock car racing. He was an active member on the Dunbar Fire & Rescue, enjoyed attending grandchildren's activities and, most recently, spending winters in Mission, Texas, as a "Winter Texan."

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Debbie; his daughter, Angie (Terry) Bassinger of Dunbar; his bonus children, Chantell (Dennis) Gravedoni of Blair, Jeff Tierney of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Chelsea (Dustin) Kugler of Blair; and 12 grandchildren; his mother, Melva (Dan) Waldron of Geneva; sisters, Phyllis ( Steve) Renz of Superior, Ella (Curt) Wathor of Peculiar, Missouri, and Patty (Greg) Therien of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother, Steve Burger of Lincoln; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Lloyd (Joan) Wright of Blair; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dick (Dianne) Droge, Pawnee City, Gary (Mary) Droge, Pawnee City, Dianne Nevrkla of Ord, and Ken (Sue) Wright of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Merle Burger; infant son, Michael; wife, Denise; brother, Danny; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Kermit & Margery Droge; brother-in-law, Don Nevrkla.
