The remains of Miss Ella Hopkins, aged 71 was brought here Monday afternoon and laid to rest in the Herman cemetery beside relatives. Funeral was from the John A. Gentelman funeral home. She was a resident here in the early days. She is survived by one brother, Phillip of Benson, two nephews and two nieces.

Dr. C.R. and Miss Ethel Mead went up to Herman this afternoon to attend the burial service of their cousin, Miss Ella Hopkins, whose death occurred in Omaha Saturday of pneumonia. The funeral service was held down there and only burial service at Herman. She was laid to rest by the side of her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Abram Hopkins, who were killed in the Herman cyclone in June of 1899. Her brother, sister, Anna. Mrs. Joe Kelso, was Anderson was also killed and so badly injured that she died a couple of days afterwards. Her daughter, Carrie, and Miss Ella were the only surivvors of the terrible cyclone in that family. She leaves one brother, Philip, of Omaha, who wasn't at home at the time.
