MRS.H. HITCHCOCK, 84, PASSES AWAY

Mrs. H.K. Hitchcock, who had lived in Washington county since 1877, passed away at her farm home in the DeSoto neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, January 31, at the age of eighty-four. Her death was the result of a month's illness from heart trouble, and was hastened by a light stroke.

As Ann E. Shook the deceased was born in Wayne, Michigan, on December 19, 1855. She was married to Horatio Kendrick Hitchcock on April 11, 1877, and they came to Nebraska immediately to establish their home. To this union were born five children, one of whom died in infancy. The husband passed away in February, 1923.

Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Andrew Bohs of Blair, Mrs. Will Coulter of Logan, Iowa, Mrs. Hattie Marple of Dupres, South Dakota; one son, Vernon, at home; twenty-two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Blair First Methodist church at 2:00 Saturday afternoon, with Rev. R.P. Rasmussen in charge, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
