Lawrence E. Zalaznik

Lawrence E. Zalaznik, age 94, of Blair, passed away August 15th at Crowell Home in Blair. No public service will be held at this time.

Lawrence was born on October 26, 1922, on a farm east of Pine City, Minnesota in a log cabin. He was the seventh of eleven children to Matt and Katherine Zalaznik. He attended a rural school near his home and later attended High School, graduating in 1940. In May of 1945, he joined the United States Army and served in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1946. In December of 1949, he was united in marriage to Mary Marilyn Kvech. After marriage, he started his lifelong career of being a traveling sales representative, later working for 10 years for No Frills. Lawrence loved to garden.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Marilyn of Blair; children: Jeff Zalaznik, Jodi (Tim) Harkema, Jon (Bev) Zalaznik; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Andresen and Erna Pangerl.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.
