Selma Scheer, 90

Active in Her Church and Community

Selma Scheer, 90, of Fremont, died Monday, June 13, 2011, at Nye Pointe Health and Rehab Center in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, June 18, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Arlington. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 17, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at church Saturday.

Selma Krohn was born July 26, 1920, at Winslow, to John and Alvina (Beerman) Krohn.

She married Obert Scheer June 28, 1939, in Winslow.

Mrs. Scheer was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was active in her church and community.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Joe Stablein of Coon Rapids, Iowa, Joyce and LeRoy Pendley, and Martha and Steve Andersen, all of Arlington; sisters-in-law, Lilly Krohn of Fremont, Marjorie Krohn of Phoenix, Ariz.; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Obert, in January of 2001; six brothers: Hilbert, Alfred, Herbert, Arthur, Walter and Victor Krohn; two sisters: Wilma Mintken and Norma Schole; son-in-law, Walter Plugge; infant grandson, Kyle Plugge; and an infant great-granddaughter, Kelsey Pflug.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
