Services for Fae A. Hovendick, 83 of Tekamah who died November 15 at the Tekamah Nursing Center were Saturday, November 18 at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah. Rev. Victor Crawford officiated. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Fae A. Hovendick was born December 1, 1911 in Tekamah to Bruce and Juanita Belle Moore Roth. She lived in the Tekamah area and graduated from Tekamah High School in 1930.

She married Howard Hovendick at her home in Tekamah August 28, 1935. They lived on a farm near Herman until moving into Tekamah in 1981.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tekamah and its Women’s Guild. She was active for many years as a Sunday School teacher and was a choir member. She and her husband sponsored the Young Adult Class. She was also a member of the Tekamah Music Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Frank.

She is survived by her husband, Howard of Tekamah; sons and daughter-in-law, Jack and Linda Hovendick, Tekamah and John Hovendick of Omaha; four grandsons, eight great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert Roth of Milwaukee, Oregon.

Sandy Hennig was organist. The First Baptist Choir provided the vocal music.

Casketbeareres were Bob Hovendick, Jay Hovendick, Jim Hovendick, Kevin Hovendick, Ray Petersen and Russ Petersen.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
