Ivan Hovendick, Jr. Died At Omaha Wednesday, Aug. 1

Ivan Hovendick, Jr., 33-year-old Blair man, died Wednesday at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. He was a lifetime resident of Blair and Washington County.

The deceased was born July 13, 1940 at Blair, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hovendick, Sr. He was baptized at the First Lutheran Church March 30, 1941, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church February 7, 1960.

He was married to Miss Donna Ruwe and the couple became the parents of three children. He is survived by his wife and the children, all of whom are at home. The children are Marvin, Mary Jo and Melinda.

Mr. Hovendick farmed and did carpentry work throughout the community.

He is also survived by his parents, Ivan and Ella Hovendick of Herman and by four sisters. They are: Lyla Shamburg, of Lincoln; Beverly Goldsberry, of Fremont; Charlene Moore, of Blair and Joyce Agmen of Omaha.

Funeral services were held at the Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday, August 4th, with the Rev. Charles Nenow conducting the service. Burial was made under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Nielsen, William Cameron, Robert Rasmussen, Russell Ryan, Stanley Marsh and Howard H. Petersen.
