Paul J. Hovendick Former Hermanite Died January 8

Paul J. Hovendick, a resident of Fremont but formerly of the Herman area, died January 8 at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha. He was 59 years of age.

The deceased was born at Scottsbluff, Nebraska, on October 10, 1916, but he was raised and attended school at Herman. As a young man he moved to the Fremont area.

He was a construction superintendent.

He is survived by his wife, Betty and by a son, Paul, Jr. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and by three daughters. They are Betsy Norton of Anaheim, California; Mrs. John (Kathy) Sucha of Fremont; and Mrs. Gary (Susie) Gieschen, of Ogallala, Nebraska. There are four grandchildren.

Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Wilda Rice of Loyalton, California, and two brothers and three sisters. He was preceded in death by father, Harry Rockriver, and by his adoptive parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hovendick.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 12, at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, and burial was made in the Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
