Raymond Hovendick Is Buried In Blair Monday

Funeral services were held Monday, May 4, for Raymond E. Hovendick, Sr., of Omaha at Pope Pius X Church. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Raymond E. Hovendick was born on February 17, 1902, at Blair to John E. and Mabel Hovendick. He lived at Blair until he married on June 14, 1927, to Edna Harmon of Omaha. He lived in Omaha until his death.

He was an engineer for Sidles Co. of Omaha until his retirement. He was a member of the Benson Lions Club for 30 years and was affiliated with the Boy Scouts and Campfire Girls for 40 years. Since retiring, his hobbies have been woodworking and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; two daughters, Beverly Tisdell of Slatersville, Rhode Island, and Darlene Jensen of Omaha; and one son, Raymond E. Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana. One brother, Carl D, of Davenport, Iowa; two sisters, Mary Sutherland of Blair and Mildred Thomson of Dixon, California, and an aunt, Mrs. Jessie Stricklett of Blair, also survive him.

Pallbearers were Martin Jensen, James Quick, Kenneth Bouvier, Alfred Bouvier, John Jensen, Jr., and Joel Jensen.

Kremer Funeral of Benson was in charge of arrangements.
