James E. McGauley, 58, of Blair, died Thursday, June 9, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

James Edward McGauley was born April 27, 1953, in Worcester, Mass., to James M. and Viola A. (Hajdamowicz) McGauley. He was baptized May 25, 1953, at Saint Joseph's Church in Leicester, Mass. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. He attended school in Worcester, Mass., and began working in the labor force.

In May of l988, he met Dawn Marie (Main) in Blair and it was love at first sight! They married Oct. 22, 1994, in Massachusetts. They were blessed with two sons. In early 2005, they moved back to Blair to be near Dawn's family.

Mr. McGauley worked for Martin Marietta Materials as a heavy equipment operator in recent years. In the past he worked as an over-the-road truck driver as well as a maintenance technician at apartment complexes. He was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and often went on poker runs while in Massachusetts. His hobby was working on old cars and trucks and was currently restoring two vehicles for his boys. He and his family were loyal Boston Red Sox and New England Patriot fans. He loved being outdoors and having a cold one with his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn, and sons, Joseph Edward and Michael Raymond, all of Blair; mother, Viola A. McGauley of Marlborough, Mass.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynn and Robert Bird and Christine and Thomas O'Connell, all of Massachusetts; mother-in-law, Mary Main of Blair; sisters-in-law and husbands, Lori and David Robinson of Shelby, Iowa, and Deanna and Dan Whyte of Avoca, Iowa; brother-in-law and wife, Ryan and Shelly Main of Fayetteville, N.C.; seven nephews; four nieces; and a great-nephew and two great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, James M. McGauley, and father-in-law, Rodney Main.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
