Barry L. Howard, 50, of Fayetteville, Georgia, died June 18, 2010 at Southwest Christian Hospice in Union City, GA, following a long battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on June 22 at Carl J. Mowell & Sons Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

Barry Lee Howard was born September 17, 1959, in West Palm Beach, FL to Carlisle and Lourdes (Dumond) Howard. He graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in 1977 and later earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Bellevue University.

On Oct. 17, 2003, he married Kim Thomas in Blair.

Mr. Howard worked for Delta Airlines from 1978 to 2008, holding several positions from cabin service to station manager. In 2008, he started a new career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones. He was a beloved friend to many. Barry enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He was a beloved friend to many.

He enjoyed cooking, golf, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He was a dedicated husband, father, son and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Kim of Fayetteville, GA; sons. Barry Lee (23) and Steven (21) of Sandy Springs, Ga., and Ethan (5), of Fayetteville; father and step-mother Carlisle and Carolyn of The Villages, Fla.; mother and step-father Lourdes and James Murphy of The Villages,; brothers, Daniel Howard of West Stockbridge, Mass., and Raymond Howard of Jacksonville, Fla,; step-brothers, James Murphy of Lawrenceville, Ga., Joseph Murphy of West Palm Beach; and step-sister, Michelle Murphy of Clermont, Fla.;

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
