Services were Thursday February 7 at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont for Harold R. Howard, 73, of Carmichael, California and formerly of the Fremont-Arlington area who died January 31, 1991 at Carmichael. Dr. Joe Scahill of First United Methodist Church officiated. Burial with military honors by the Honor Guard of American Legion Post No. 20 Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 854 was in Ridge Cemetery.

Harold R. Howard was born February 26, 1917 at Arlington. He grew up in Arlington-Fremont area, graduating from Fremont High School in 1934.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1937-1957. He then became a government inspector at the Aero Jet. Co., a missile and rocket manufacturer in California. He was later employed at McClellan Air Force Base, also in California, until his retirement.

He married Emma Schmidt in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, December 22, 1945. She survives.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements for the services.
