Worked for the Omaha Club for 26 Years

Julia A. Joons, 71, of Blair, died Friday, June 17, 2011, in Blair.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin 1 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Julia Ann Swingholm was born Jan. 31, 1940, in Blair to John A. and Mildred J.(Woodring) Swingholm. She attended school in Blair, later moved to Omaha with her parents and attended and graduated from North High School.

She worked for the Omaha Club for 26 years and, for the past 10 years, for Metro Community College at the Fort Street Campus.

On Feb. 9, 1984, she married Dale Joons in Omaha. In 2004, they moved to Blair.

Julia is survived by her husband Dale; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Tracy Belk; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Chuck Benish, Melanie and Turk Benish, all of Omaha; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; father, John A. Swingholm of Blair; sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Dean Stewart of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Sharon Swingholm of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred; and brother, John B. Swingholm.
