Died on 9/2/2017
Buried in Blair Cemetery

Kay Elaine (Lintz) Sonderup, age 83, passed away at Crowell Memorial Home, Blair, on Saturday September 2. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 7th at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Graveside services followed in the Blair Cemetery.

Kay Elaine (Lintz) Sonderup was born December 9, 1933, in Pleasanton to Albertis and Ruth (Razey) Lintz. She attended school in Pleasanton before moving to Blair, where she met her husband, Delmar. They were married on January 20, 1951. They had three children: Steven, Kathy and Vicki.

Kay worked all her life in numerous restaurants throughout Blair and was known by many people and had many friends because of this. Kay resided at Parkview Manor for many years. In 1997, due to complications from diabetes, she lost her left leg, but because of much love and support from her children, grandchildren, family, friends and community, she was able to continue living there on her own for 18 years. She loved to cook and loved the holidays and making rum cakes for others. In 2016, she moved to Crowell Memorial Home to her new "apartment." There, she continued to enjoy visits from her family. She enjoyed all the activities the Home had to offer, and especially enjoyed bingo and winning the "big" prize! After losing her sight completely, she loved to listen to the Royals Baseball games and having the weekly newspaper read to her.

Kay is survived by her children: son, Steven and Mary Lou Sonderup of Herman, daughter, Vicki and David Angle of Blair, and son-in-law, Gene Keller of Blair; sister, Diane Hettrick of Bellevue, and brother, Jerry Lintz of Omaha; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delmar; daughter, Kathy; and granddaughter, Elena.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Campbell Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
