Stewart Jacobs Rites Tuesday

After a lingering illness, Stewart LeRoy Jacobs, son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Jacobs of Blair, died August 16. Deceased was born in east Omaha on December 4, 1924.

When an infant of two months, the family moved to Blair where they have since lived.

Besides the parents he leaves three brothers, Russell, Kenneth and Virgil and five sisters, Mrs. Henry Lamp, Mrs. Harold Davis and Norma, Lila Rose, and Shirley.

The funeral with Rev. C.E. Hamilton officiating was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Campbell Mortuary and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Rare Disease is Fatal to Boy, 16

Stuart Jacobs Succumbs in Omaha Saturday to Rare Blood Malady

Ill several months, most of which time he spent in a hospital, Stuart Jacobs, 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jacobs of Blair, died Saturday at St. Joseph’s hospital in Omaha. He had undergone 11 blood transfusions in a futile effort to overcome the effects of leukemia, a rare blood disease.

The body was returned to Blair, and funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Campbell Mortuary, the Rev. C.E. Hamilton of First Baptist church in charge. Burial followed in Blair cemetery.

Stuart LeRoy Jacobs was born December 4, 1924, in East Omaha, and at the age of two months came to Blair with his parents, residing here the rest of his life.

He is survived by his parents; three brothers, Russell and Virgil, at home, and Kenneth, with the army at Fort Riley, Kansas; and five sisters: Mrs. Henry Lamp, Mrs. Harold Davis, Norma Lila Rose, and Shirley, all of Blair. Note: in the Enterprise article, his name was misspelled Stewart all through.
