Sylvia M. Huffman, age 69, of Decatur, died suddenly at her Decatur home on Friday, March 31, 1989.

Sylvia was born on August 26, 1919 at Walthill, Nebraska to Walter and Laverne (Forrester) Moore. She married Dale "Jim" Huffman on January 4, 1938 at South Sioux City, Nebraska. Mr. Huffman died July 14, 1977. Sylvia had worked as a cook at the Decatur Senior Citizens Center and was a member of the Walthill Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her mother, Laverne Moore of Walthill; four sons: Jim Huffman, Jerry Huffman, Jack Huffman, and Gary Huffman, all of Decatur; two daughters: Peggy Jump and Pam Bacon, also of Decatur; 16 grandchidren and three great-grandchildren; four sisters: Loretta Plummer and Wanda Tompkins, both of Sioux City, Iowa, Una Mae Anderson of Seattle, Washington, and Daisy Cornwall of Walthill; one brother, Gerald Moore of Long Beach, California; several nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was preceded in death by one daughter, Marilyn Kellogg; one brother, Donald Moore; her father, and her husband.

Funeral Services were Monday, April 3 at the Walthill Assembly of God Church with Rev. John Bellar officiating. Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Decatur.

Arrangements were handled by the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
