Funeral services for Bernard Hughes, 71, who died Wednesday, October 16 were at 11 a.m. on Monday October 21, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Blair.

Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.

The Rev. Daniel E. Galas and the Rev. Paul E. Schneider officiated.

Mary Lou Beckman was the organist for the choir, who sang " Be Not Afraid", "Whatsoever You Do" and "Prayer of St. Francis".

Vocalists were Dwaine Greenamyer. He sang the "Our Father". David Carlsen sang "Ava Maria".

Pallbearers were: Robert Sanborn, Charles Hughes, Donald Hughes, Dennis Hughes, Michael Hughes and Jerome Hughes.

Honorary Pallbearers were: James Foley, Fred Haley, R.W.Jones, John Overman, Joseph Grasso, Leonard Van Liew, Paul Catlin and John Coyle.

Hughes was born in Omaha, December 20, 1913, to Louis and Cathrine Hughes. His parents and four brothers Frank, Charles, Raymond and Elmer; one sister Marie preceded him in death.
