A Tribute to Mrs. Aimee Boggs

By Susan Taylor, Ft. Calhoun Grade School Student

Today, in our little town, all the people, who knew Mrs. Aimee Boggs, were saddened by her passing.

We will always remember her as a fine neighbor, and friend. We will remember her little house, always immaculately clean; the carefully trimmed hedge; the garden, always with the first tomatoes, the first sweet corn, for God had endowed her with a green thumb. Her flowers were abundant with blossoms and always a joy to see.

She chose to live alone, and I admired her independence. She was always well versed on any event that took place in our little town, though never in a malicious way.

One could never imagine her as being old, for she was always up at the break of dawn, and always busy. We would pause by her gate and pass the time of day; never for long though, because she could not stand to be idle.

She was buried Tuesday, February 28, 1961, on a hillside overlooking the town she loved so well. Life will go on, but it will never be the same.
