Alvin Bohannon, 79

Services for Alvin Leslie Bohannon, 79 who died October 12, 1992 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair after a short illness were October 14, at United Methodist Church in Craig. Rev. Dawn Carder officiated. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Alvin Leslie Bohannon was born to Floyd Augustus and Myrtle Mae Metzler Bohannon December 10, 1912 on a farm near Agnes, Missouri. When he was four years old, he moved with his family to Nebraska. He received his education at the Hill Creek School at Herman, District 30 and Riverside High School.

He married Elizabeth G. Metzler in Herman March 28, 1936. They lived most of their lives in and around Craig. In addition to farming, he was a substitute mail carrier and retired from Sharlo Homes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, son, Floyd Wayne; his parents and a brother Floyd.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy and Jo of Tekamah, and Lyle and Betty of Herman; seven grandchildren; one brother, Howard of Fort Calhoun; three sisters, Nola culver of Bravois Mills, Missouri, Lucille Hoyt of Los Angeles, California and Gayle Zanker of Boise, Idaho, and many friends.

Casket bearers were Steve Stang, Mark Stang, Craig Bohannon, Vance Bohannon, and Chris Fleischman.

Honorary casket bearers were Earl Webster, Donald Bonneau, Earl Christenson, Claude Boggs, victor Wascher, M.K. McClellan, and Harold Lantefield.

Richard Nelsen was soloist, Barb Harney was organist.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral of Tekamah was in charge of arrangements
