Elizabeth G. Bohannon, 68

Funeral services were Wednesday, December 6 at the Craig United Methodist Church for Elizabeth G. Bohannon, 68, of Craig who died suddenly December 4, 1989 at her home. Rev. Dr. Hal Smith officiated. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Elizabeth G. Bohannon was born May 7, 1921 at Tekamah to Jonas and Gertrude Barger Metzler. She married Alvin L. Bohannon in Herman on March 28, 1936.

She worked briefly for Campbell Soup Company in Fremont and for Tek Inn in Tekamah. For the past 15 years she has baked for special occasion cakes for persons in the Tekamah area.

She was a member of the Garden club and the Past Noble Grand of the Rebecca Lodge, Chapter No. 183 of Craig.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Craig. During her years as a member there she served as membership secretary, Sunday School superintendent and was a member of the nominated committee. She also held several offices including president, vice-president, treasurer and chairman of the funeral committee, in the United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Floyd Wayne; six brothers’ two sisters; and two half-sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin L. Bohannon, Craig; two sons, Alvin Leroy, Tekamah, and Lyle V, Herman; seven grandchildren; and four brothers, George Metzler, Tekamah, Earl Metzler, Blair, Glenn Metzler, Omaha, and Calvin Metzler, Verdigre, Nebraska.
