Mrs. Esther Bohs Died at Eppley Care Center

Mrs. Esther Bohs, lifelong resident of Blair and Washington County, died at the Eppley Care Center, in Omaha following a protracted illness. She was the wife of the late Carl Bohs, former Blair businessman. She was a schoolteacher for a number of years, teaching at the Long Creek and Cuming City schools in the rural areas of Washington County. She retired from teaching in 1969.

Esther Christine Bohs was born February 28, 1904 at the farm home of her parents near Kennard. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Monson.

As a young girl she attended the Brewster rural school and graduated from the Kennard High School. Later she attended Peru State Normal and Dana College.

On May 11 1925 she was married to Carl H. Bohs and for the many years she lived at 1948 Washington Street in Blair. To the couple were born a daughter, Charlotte, now Mrs. Hildreth Paine and a son, C. Lyle Bohs. Both live in Blair and both survive.

In addition to her son and daughter, Mrs. Bohs is survived by three brothers, Carl Monson, Ernest Monson and Elmer Monson, all of Blair and by two sisters, Anna Andreasen and Emma Farnberg, also of Blair.

Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m., Saturday. The Rev. Robert Albers and Rev. John Petersen will conduct the service. Burial will be made in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers will be Robert Vinton, Leslie Johnson, Allen McDonald, John Andreasen, Jr., and Clauncy Wright.
