Lowe, Virgil –Virgil Gordon Lowe, born November 14, 1931, went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2012. He is survived by a sister, Leah Mae Cameron of Herman, Neb.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Mrs. Robin (Brian) Broome of Madison, Miss., and Mrs. Renee (Karl) Kemp of Calera, Ala.; and five grandchildren: Tyler (Baton Rouge, La); Aaron (Kennesaw, Ga.), and Kimberlee Broome (Madison, Miss.); and Karima and Cameron Kemp (Calera, Ala.). Mr. Lowe was an active member of Mountain Park First Baptist Church, serving as deacon and chairman of the church benevolence committee. Mr. Lowe served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict as a Flight Engineer in an Atomic Attack Bomber Squadron. He received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Northrup University and worked for Martin Marietta, government defense contractor, where he was one of the original designers of the Pershing Missile, TRW, and Panasonic, retiring in 1998 as a Regional Sales Manager. The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Wages Funeral Home located at 3705 A. W. Highway 78 in Snellville. Services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Wages at 11:00 am following visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens Cemetery in Snellville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mountain Park First Baptist Church or to Lilburn Cooperative Ministries.
