FORMER RESIDENT FATALLY INJURED

Rites For Robert Peterson, Dodge County Supervisor Held Monday

Robert Peterson of Fremont, a Dodge county supervisor, died at a Fremont hospital Friday afternoon following injuries he sustained last Wednesday when a car in which he rode with three other county officers overturned southeast of Dodge He suffered seven fractured ribs and a fractured shoulder bone in the accident.

The deceased was born August 1, 1875 in Denmark, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rasmussen. When he was a little over a year old his parents came to this country and located at Orum where they reared their family. The deceased was educated in the Fremont Normal and after his marriage in 1900 to Kirsten Larsen at Orum, they opened a general store in that village where they lived until 1904 when they moved to Fremont. In Fremont he was successful in business for himself, also as an employee, and last year was elected a member of the Dodge county board.

Surviving him are his wife, a son, Howard, three daughters, Mrs. Clyde G. Knapp and Mrs. Harold Jensen of Fremont and Miss Ruth Peterson of Des Moines. He also leaves three brothers, Rasmus, of Pasadena, Calif., Martin, of Fremont, and Peter of Arlington, and one sister, Mrs. M.C. Jensen of Fremont.

Funeral services were held from the First Lutheran church at Fremont Monday afternoon and later at Orum. Burial was made in the Orum cemetery.
