John Rosenbaum, who was reported very ill last week, passed away at his home last Thursday evening. Mr. Rosenbaum had been in fairly good health this last winter up until last Monday when he took suddenly ill with pneumonia.

A trained nurse was called to care for him and all was done that loving hands could do but to no avail. The funeral was held at the M. E. Church Sunday afternoon. Interment in Kennard Cemetery. John Rosenbaum was born in Washington County, Virginia, August 30, 1850. He left his home state when 22 years of age and landed in Washington County, Nebraska 54 years ago. His early religious training he received in the Lutheran Church where he also received the sacrament of baptism. March 22, 1887 he was united with Ruth McCann in holy wedlock. This union was blessed with seven children all who live in or about Kennard, Jasper, Clyde, Ethel, Blanch, Hazel, Glen and Roscoe. He chose farming for his life's calling and was a conscientious, industrious and thrifty tenant of the fields. In 1913 they left the farm and moved to Kennard where he enjoyed the friendship and confidence of his many friends and neighbors. He was a charter member of the Kennard Camp M.W.A. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, seven children and 16 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
