Minnie Anna (Schumacher) Fittro

Minnie Anna Schumacher was born at Osmond, Nebr., Feb, 25, 1893, died at Omaha, Nebr., Jan. 1, 1927, aged 33 years, 10 months and 6 days. When a young child she came to Washington County with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schumacher, living for a few years at Coffman and later at Ft. Calhoun.

She was married to John Fittro on March 18, 1922, and they made their home near Tekamah. She was taken ill about a month ago and died very suddenly following an operation in an Omaha hospital on New Year’s Day.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, residing at Blair, two brothers, Frank J. of Solon Springs, Wis., and Hans, of Blair, and three sisters, Mrs. John Iverson, of Plattssmouth, Mrs. Herbert T. Ring, of Hooper, and Mrs. J. H. Beales of Ft. Calhoun.

Mrs. Fittro was well known in Ft. Calhoun, having grown from childhood to womanhood here. She clerked in the Siever’s store for several years prior to 1918 and was a very efficient employee.

The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church here Monday afternoon, Rev. L. W. Krutz officiating, and burial made in the Ft. Calhoun Cemetery.- Ft. Calhoun Chronicle.

Daughter of Mrs. Schumacher Second to Die in Past Four Months

Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Ring came down from Hooper the first of the week to attend the funeral of Mrs. Ring’s sister, Mrs. John Fittro of Tekamah, who was a daughter of Mrs. Schumacher of this city. Mrs. Fittro died at an Omaha hospital last Saturday morning, and the remains were laid to rest in the family lot in the Calhoun cemetery on Monday. This is the second daughter of the Schumacher family to pass away during the past four months, Mrs. Fred Jipp of Calhoun dying last August. Mrs. Fittro will be remembered by many Blair folks who met her while she was clerking in the Seivers store at Calhoun a number of years ago. She was a sister of Hans Schumacher of this city.
