The funeral of Mrs. Christian Stark, who lived west of Benson, was held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock from the church in Bennington, Rev. Rumze officiating and burial was made in the German Cemetery in this district which was largely attended by friends and relatives from a distance.

Annie K. Petersen was born Dec. 13, 1869 in Clinton County, Iowa and died Sept. 24, 1927 at an Omaha hospital following a long illness at the age of fifty-seven years, nine months and fourteen days.

She was married to Christian Stark in 1889 and eleven children were born to them, all of who are living to mourn the death of their mother. They are: Mrs. Frank Soll, Bancroft; Mrs. Henry Pruess, Bennington; Mrs. Jacob Schrum, Gretna; Mrs. Henry Denker, Elkhorn; Paul Stark, Papillion; Hans Stark, Benson; Arthur Stark, Waterloo; John Stark, Bancroft; Chris, Emil, and Sophie at home. There are also five sisters and four brothers as follows: Mrs. P. C. Petersen and Mrs. Julius Gottsch, Bennington; Mrs. W. H. Belknap, Lincoln; Mrs. Martha Kohl, Clinton, Iowa; Hulda Petersen, Omaha; Peter and Paul Petersen, Blair; Herman Petersen, Irvington; Arthur Petersen of Clinton, Iowa. Her six nephews were the pallbearers.

The deceased was a member of the Royal Neighbors and Ladies Aid Society and was a good mother and neighbor and will be greatly missed by her family and large circle of friends.
