The funeral service of Mrs. Anna H. Leverkus, who died early Friday at an Omaha hospital after a short illness, was held at the Methodist Church in Blair Sunday at 3 P.M., the pastor officiating. Music was furnished by a quartette consisted of Miss Ethel Mead, Mrs. E. J. Hancock, Mr. D. C. Van Deusen and Rev. Carl Bader. Interment was made in the family lot in the Blair Cemetery.

Anna H. Ceasar was born at Hachenburg (Hessen Nassau) Germany, January 6, 1854. In 1884 she came from Germany direct to Blair, where she was married to Reinhard Leverkus. Five children blessed the union, of whom two died in infancy and one son, Rudolph died at Kennard at the age of eighteen years.

After residing in Blair the family moved to Kennard, where they lived until 1912, when Woodbine, Iowa became their home. In 1914 they moved to Omaha, which has since continued to be their home. In that same year Reinhard Leverkus died in Omaha.

Mrs. Leverkus was brought up in the Christian faith in the German Evangelical Association of Churches, a branch of the Methodist group. Coming to this country when past thirty, and suffering from deafness, she was not able to take advantage of the church services in America. She was sacrificially devoted to her family, and was a loyal kind-hearted friend and neighbor.

On June 19th she underwent a surgical operation, and died of pneumonia June 24, 1927 at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 15 days.

She is survived by her two daughters, Minnie and Olga Leverkus, both of Omaha, and by many appreciative friends.

Mrs. R. Leverkus died last Friday, June 24th, at a hospital in Omaha, following an operation for an obstruction of the bowels on Monday. The body was brought here Sunday afternoon and the funeral service held at the Methodist Church at 3 o’clock, Rev. Carl B. Bader officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery by the side of her husband, whose death occurred in 1914. Anna H. Caesar was born in Hachenburg, (Hessen Nassau) Germany, January 6, 1854, so was past her 72nd birthday at the time of her heath. In 1884 she came to this country and was married that year to Reinhard Leverkus in this city. Five children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy and the only son, Rudolph, died at the age of 18 years while the family was living in Kennard. The family moved from Kennard to Woodbine, Ia., for two years, then to Omaha, where they have lived ever since. Since Mrs. Leverkus was thirty years of age when she came to this country and her hearing became bad in early life she didn’t get about much socially, devoting herself unsparingly to her family. She was a wonderful mother and the two daughters, Minnie and Olga, were unusually devoted to her. This makes her sudden passing increasingly hard to bear and there will be a vacancy in the home that never can be filled by another. The bereaved daughters have the sincere sympathy of their many friends.
