William R. Fitch

Word reached here of the death of Wm. R. Fitch who passed away Friday, August 19, at Denver, Colorado, following a paralytic stroke. The deceased was a former resident of Herman and is well remembered by many of the older citizens. The family moved from her to Omaha, about twenty-five years ago, where his wife died. He has made his home among his children for several years and was at the home of a daughter, Lerrine, when death came. He is survived by four sons, Scott M. and Bert R. of Payette, Idaho; Zed D., of Grand Island, Neb., and Harry B. of Omaha. Five daughters, Mrs. J. D. Garrison and Mrs. J. M. Retschy of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Roy I. Brooks of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. H.J. Livingston of Denver Colo., and Mrs. Ralph E. Erwin of Dan De Augo De Cuba. A brother, John T., of Herman, and one sister, Mrs. D. G. Gordon of Tekamah. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 o’clock at the Glendale Mortuary with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Among those from here attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Farn West, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. West, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Fitch and Mr. and Mrs. Ben West.
