Mitchell, Walter K. Oct 31, 1929 - Oct 14, 2017 Walter K. Mitchell, age 87, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 14, 2017. Born at Macy, NE, to George and Iona Mitchell on October 31, 1929. Walt served in the United States Army from 1949 to 1955. Walter Mitchell married Grace L. Sheets on August 29, 1951, in Benson, NE. Big in stature, loving in nature, and a great sense of humor until the end, he was one of the last true gentlemen. Walt lived for his wife, family, friends, and the job he worked at until the age of 83. With a strong faith in God, he lived a long and happy life. Preceded in death by his parents, George W.K. and Iona Mitchell; siblings: Kenneth Ogden, Alice Storm and Dale Mitchell. Walt is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Grace Sheets; children, Gay (Roger) Hearron, Randall (India) Mitchell; grandchildren: Jason (Megan) Hearron, Adam Hearron, Kara Mitchell, Jessica (Jason) Lefler; great-grandchildren: Grant, Josa, Landon, Jax, Tanner; sister, Mary Jean Leinart; and brother, Wayne Mitchell.
