Long time Realtor, Gary Paulsen, peacefully passed away at Lakeside Hospital on Oct. 17 surrounded by his family. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Harry Paulsen, and grandson, Reed Paulsen. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia “Pat” Paulsen; children; Lezlie McPherson (Bob), Teri Andresen (Del) and Tracy Paulsen, grandchildren: Ted Greguska, Tara Peterson (Chad), Kari Martinson (Ryan) and Carter Paulsen; great-grandchildren: Jack, Sam and Thea Greguska and Mack, Cooper and Mae Peterson.

Gary was born on Nov. 12, 1932 in DeSoto. He married Patricia and started farming in Blair until they moved to Cozad in 1956, where he owned Paulsen Rug Cleaners. In 1957, they moved back to Omaha where he started working at Roberts Dairy as a milkman and was promoted to management. In 1966, he began his career as a Realtor at the Byron Reed Company, followed by N.P. Dodge Real Estate, CBS Real Estate, Home Real Estate and then at CBSHOME Real Estate, where he retired in 2008. He was part owner in Golden Key Homes and East Construction Homes. During his 42 years as a very successful Realtor, he earned numerous awards for his outstanding sales performance.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd. The service will be Saturday, Oct.21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Master, 2617 S. 114th St., followed by reception at the church. A graveside service will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Blair Cemetery, Blair. The family requests memorials to Habitat for Humanity, 1701 N. 24th Street, Omaha 68110 and the Lutheran Church of the Master, 2617 S. 114th Street, Omaha 68144.
