Calhoun Mail Carrier Finds Dead Man In Auto

Edward L. Dodder, grand treasurer of the Ancient Order of United Workmen, was found dead in an automobile just across the Washington County line near Florence on Friday morning by Mail Carrier Landis of the Ft. Calhoun post office.

The body was in a frozen condition and a revolver clasped in the hand. Mr. Dodder had been dead sometime when found by the government employee. Edward Dodder was known to many of our citizens and his death is mourned by a large circle of acquaintances. There is no question but that the deceased took his own life although no reason is assigned for the rash act.

When E. L. Dodder was found on a lonely road near Florence, sitting in an automobile with a bullet hole through his head and a revolver in his had, it was given out that he had killed himself. Now the sleuths have unearthed some evidence that the Omaha undertaker was murdered, it is said, and arrests are shortly forthcoming.
