Adam Gochenour, Resident of Blair Thirty-five Years, Dead

Adam Gochenour, a resident of Blair for thirty-five years, died at the Blair Hospital, on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 1917, of infirmities due to old age.

Adam Gochenour was born in Warren County, Ohio, May 21, 1832. In 1853 he was married to Frances H. Warrick, who died in 1860. To this union three children were born, Joe, John and Mrs. Mary E. Stevens. John died at the age of 18 months, and the other son, Joe, died in Blair in June of this year. In 1862 he married Mary J. Burgess, to which union six children were born. They are Mrs. O. M. Ireland, Blair; Mrs. Jim Trimble, Kadoka, S. D.; Mrs. John L. Dixon, Logan, Ia., Mrs. Lou Latta, Mrs. U. G. Garner and Mrs. G. G. Hines of Blair, and an adopted son, Arthur Purtell of Omaha, who with Mrs. Stevens survive the deceased.

The funeral was held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lou Latta on Friday, Nov. 2, at 3:30 p.m., the services being conducted by Rev. A. E. Marsh, of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. The pallbearers were six grandchildren of the deceased, Void Ireland, Clifford Ireland, Ira Dixon, Curtis Dixon, Inver Garner and Bruce Gochenour.

Those attending the funeral from out of town were John Dixon and family of Logan, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Ireland, of Yutan, Neb., Arthur Purtell and wife, of Omaha, Mrs. Rathbun and Mrs. Wilsey, of Belgrade, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. McCafferty and son, of Valley, Neb., Mrs. Grant Fox, of Florence, Neb., and Miss Beulah Latta, of Tekamah.
