Lyle C. Rogers, 88 years, of rural Cedar Bluffs, died at his home on Thursday, Oct. 19. Lyle was born Nov. 27, 1928, in Logan, Iowa, to Clair and Hilda (Kierscht) Rogers.

Lyle married Ethel Kuhr at Blair on Nov. 15, 1950. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2010. They lived in Blair and moved to Fremont. He worked at Hormel Foods for 23 years and retired to become a full-time farmer. He lived near Cedar Bluffs from 1960 until the present. He also drove bus part time for Cedar Bluffs Public Schools.

He is survived by his sons; Rodney (Ranae) Rogers of Fremont, Kenneth (Diane) Rogers of Woodcliff and Vaughn Rogers of Cedar Bluffs; daughter, Jennifer Rogers of Cedar Bluffs; sister, Lois (Melvin) Gieselman of Arlington; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two brothers.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Cedar Bluffs with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be no further services or burial.

Memorials may be directed to the family for further designation.
