Miss Mattie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Zimmerman, who live west of Herman, died of pneumonia, following influenza, on Wednesday December 4th, and the funeral was held at the family residence on the following Friday. The body was brought here for burial in the Blair Cemetery. Miss Mattie was born April 5th, 1890, and was therefore past 28 years of age. Besides her parents she leaves two brothers, Red and Alfred. Fred happened to be home on a furlough from Camp Grant III., and was here to attend the funeral service. Mr. Zimmerman was also very sick with influenza but is recovering very slowly.

Mattie E. Zimmermann Dies Near Herman

Miss Mattie E. Zimmermann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Zimmermann, died at the family home near Herman on Wednesday, December 4, 1918 of influenza. She was born April 5, 1890, and was 28 years of age. Funeral was held on December 6, and the body laid to rest in the cemetery at Blair. Deceased was a most lovable young lady and leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn the death of one whose life was so full of promise. The sympathy of their friends is extended to the bereaved ones.
