DEATH OF S.E. HURD

S.E. Hurd, an old and respected citizen of Washington county, died at his home nine miles west of Blair on Thursday, March 27, 1913, aged nearly 79 years. He was born in Lafayette, New York, April 5, 1834; came to Washington county, Nebraska, in 1866. He has been twice married, his first wife being Miss Mary Ann Jones, to whom he was united Nov. 20, 1858, in Waterloo, Ind. She died in 1878. In 1886 he was married to Mrs. Eliza A. Taylor, who with three children, Mrs. Mary S. Hitchcock of Kennard, Mrs. Grace B. Jones of Blair and C. O. Hurd of South Omaha survive him.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Methodist church in Blair, Rev. C. D. Lang conducting the services, and interment made in the Blair cemetery.
