Through an oversight, no mention was made in last week’s issue of this newspaper of the death of Oscar F. Kiefer, a brother of William Kiefer of this city, who passed away on January 28, 1917 aged 40 years, 4 months and 18 days. Oscar F., son of Henry Keifer was born near Mascoutah, St. Clair County, Ill., Sept. 9, 1876, and came to Nebraska, Dec. 17, 1892, with his parents and settled north of Herman. He leaves besides his aged father and mother of West Point, Nebr., four brothers, William of Blair, Lue of Tekamah, Frank of Blair and Albert, who is with a Canadian regiment “somewhere in France.”; and one sister, Mrs. Will Franke of Herman. One brother, Henry, and one sister, Julia, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Catholic Church in Tekamah by Father O’Driscoll of Blair.
