Mathilda C. Scheer (Jacob)

Mrs. Herman Scheer, who has been a sufferer of an illness of spinal trouble for the past ten years, died at her home south of town, Friday morning, July 6th. Mrs. Scheer, whose maiden name was Mathilda Jacob. Was born near Arlington, June 14, 1874, where she grew to womanhood. On December 16, 1896 she was married to Herman Scheer and they settled down to housekeeping southeast of Fontanelle where they have since resided. During the last ten years she has been a helpless invalid from the effects of the illness which eventually caused her death. She is survived by her husband and six children, five sons and a daughter. Funeral services were held on Sunday from the family residence and the Brown Creek Lutheran Church of which the deceased was a devoted member. Interment took place in the cemetery near the church. The family have the sympathy of the community in their sad hour of bereavement. ~~~ Obituary courtesy of the Washington County Genealogical Society.
