Arlington native Susan L. Buhr, 36, of Filley, died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at Bryan LGH West Hospital in Lincoln as a result of injuries from a car accident.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 2, at the Christ Community Church of Beatrice. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice.

Visitation began Wednesday, June 30, and continues through 9 p.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home in Beatrice. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the church. A family prayer service is slated for 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Susan L. “Susie” Buhr was born June 29, 1967, in Arlington to Ronald and Elaine Hilgenkamp. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1985.

On July 10, 1983, she married Galen Buhr at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice. The couple had lived and farmed east of Beatrice since that time.

Mrs. Buhr had worked at the Filley Bank and was currently working at Farm Credit Services of America in Beatrice as a financial specialist.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice, and was currently attending Christ Community Church of Beatrice, where she had taught Bible school.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, attending her children’s activities, running, camping and boating, flowers, and her Bible study group.

She is survived by her husband, Galen, of Filley; a son, Mitchell Amundson of Arlington; three daughters, Chelsea Amundsen, Tia and Taylor Buhr, all of Filley; her parents, Ronald and Elaine Hilgenkamp of Arlington, parents-in-law, Gilbert and Judy Buhr of Beatrice; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheryl and Alan Wiese of Filley and Sandra and Brian Rasmussen of Arlington; grandfather, Edwin Hilgenkamp of Arlington; great-grandmother, Ida Mumford of Beatrice; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Tayten Buhr; grandparents, Louise Hilgenkamp and Emil and Lenora Dunklau.
