Former Arlington resident Evelyn Husk, 86, of Fremont, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at the A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at the Arlington Community Church with Pastor Burt Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 pm. Visitation will also be held at the church on Monday, one hour prior to services.

Evelyn Kuhlman was born May 2, 1920, in Herman to Chris and Mary (Mengedoht) Kulhman. She lived at Herman until March 17, 1943, when she married Harry Husk at Tekamah.

The couple moved to the Kennard area, where they were farmers. After her husband' s death in 1986, she moved to Arlington.

Mrs. Husk was a member of Arlington Community Church, and was active in several church groups, and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a volunteer at the Arlington Library, and the Washington County Extension Club. She was also very active at the Arlington Senior Center.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Garry and Janie Husk of Fremont, Dennis Husk and life partner Dwight Jensen of Colorado Sptings, Colo., daughters and son-in-law, Dotty and Richard Olson of Waterloo, and Susan Chase of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Norma Kuhlman of Herman; sisters and brother-in-law, Arlene Lang of Blair and Ethel and Dean Blatchford of Woodlands Hills, Calif. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Husk; sisters, Loretta Durand and Lucille Cameron; and an infant brother, Sonny Kuhlman.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
