Chris Nohrenberg died very suddenly Wednesday morning at his place of business in Fort Calhoun from an attack of heart disease.

The Fort Calhoun Chronicle has the following account of his death:

“He apparently was in his usual health shortly before the attack the only indication otherwise being when he told Mrs. Joe Bolln that he felt dizzy and requested her to phone for the doctor. While she was doing so Chris fell to the floor and expired before Dr. Geesaman arrived.

Only last week Chris had purchased the Bolln stock of confectionery, soft drinks, etc., and it was in the hallway off his room where he was stricken.”

Two brothers, J. Wm., and Henry, well-known farmers near Blair. Mrs. Fred Siert, of this city, is a sister of deceased. The remain were brought to his sister’s home here in Blair by his two brothers where the funeral service will be held today.

On Wednesday morning of last week Chris Nohrenberg died suddenly of heart trouble at Ft. Calhoun where he has just bought the Bolin soft drink business. The funeral took place Friday afternoon in Blair from the home of his sister, Mrs. Fred Siert, on west Lincoln Street. Rev. John B. Williams, pastor of the Christian Church, was in charge. Christian Frederick Nohrenberg was born at Martinsburg, Missouri, April 27th, 1884, and so was over thirty-four and a half years old at his death. He was raised at Ladonia, Missouri, and with his relatives moved to Blair when he was 16 years of age. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Siert, and three brothers, two of whom, William and Henry and farmers in this neighborhood, and Frank lives at Payette, Idaho. Deceased was well known in Blair and vicinity and had many friends who regret his sudden and untimely departure. He was esteemed for many kindly traits of character and will be sincerely mourned by his relatives and friends.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Siert, and three brothers, two of whom, William and Henry are farmers in the neighborhood, and one, Frank, lives at Payette, Idaho.
