Funeral services for Wm. W. Hanslip were conducted from the home by Rev. Frank Williams on Friday afternoon. Mr. Hanslip, who had been in failing health for a number of years passed away early Thursday morning. William Woodruff Hanslip was born in Suffolkshire, England on August 5, 1862. When about twenty years of age he came to this country settling first in Kan. and later coming to Burt County, Neb. where he took up farming. He was married to Miss Margaret Gibson of Tekamah and to this union was born twelve children, two dying in infancy. Surviving him besides the wife are Wm. Of Towner, Colo.; Fred of Fremont; Robert of Schuyler; James of Oberlin, Kans; Mrs. Guy Vogenwreath, Mrs. Jesse Wallingford, Mrs. Elmer Utterbeck, Mrs. Glen Houchens, Walter and Eva, all of Arlington. Interment was made in the Arlington Cemetery.

William Woodruff Hanslip was born in Ayreswell Suffolk Shire, England, August 5th, 1862. He came to the United States when he was about twenty years of age settling first in Kansas, from there he came to Burt Co., Nebr. where he farmed for eighteen or twenty years. He returned to Kansas for two years then coming to Arlington in 1918 where he has since resided. He married Margaret Gibson at Tekamah in 1887, and to this union were born twelve children, two of whom died in their early years. The children left with their mother to mourn his loss are William, of Towner, Colo., Fred of Fremont, Nebr., Robert of Schuyler, Nebr., James of Oberlin, Kansas, Mrs. J. Wallingford, Mrs. Guy Bobenruf, Mrs. Elmer Utterback, Mrs. Glen Hautchens, Walter and Eva, all of Arlington. For a number of years Mr. Hanslip has been in failing health developing recently a serious illness from which he could not rally and he quietly passed away at five o’clock Thursday, January 6, 1927. Funeral services were conducted at the home Friday afternoon by Rex F. Williams and burial followed in the Arlington Cemetery.
